1. The presentation of the tributes seems to be greatly focused on visual presentation and looks — what does this reveal about the belief systems of the Capitol?
The Capitol believes that if you don't make a quality entrance or make yourself be seen or have something that makes you stand out, they don't pay much attention to you and you are barely known.
2. Compare and contrast life in the Capitol to life in District 12.
The life in The Capitol is different from District 12 live because in the Capitol you have enough of everything and in District 12 you barely scrape by or you may even die of hunger or illness. In the Capitol you have many accesories and in District 12 you have coal dust as an accesorie and that's it.
3. What does Cinna ask Katniss and Peeta to do just before they ride out in their chariot? What is the purpose of this gesture?
Cinna tells the kids to hold hands. This small and meaningful hand gesture is to show everyone that they are distinguished as friends more than enemys or people who are forced to be together.
4. Why is it so hard for Katniss to trust Peeta's kindness?
It is hard for Katniss to trust Peeta because that is just how she is. She doesn't give her trust like tat and she just assumes that the more likeable he seems the more deadly he will be in the games.
